Pippa Heylings

D4X_1645-2I moved to Impington in 2012  I lead the HI Sustainability Group campaign to stop plastics ending up in the ocean. I am a member of the Policy Advisory Group for Baroness Featherstone, Lib Dem spokesperson for energy and climate change in the House of Lords.

Having worked in South America and Africa, teaching and then leading an international NGO, I now run my own company which works with governments to get local voices heard on policies for environment and climate change.

I am passionate about protecting our green spaces and pathways in and around the village, while planning for affordable housing and sustainable transport options. I became involved in the Histon & Impington Neighbourhood Plan which in turn led me to want to serve the local community on the District Council. This is where critically important decisions will be made over the next few years that will determine the character, growth and viability of our villages.

I was elected to South Cambs District Council in 2018 where I am now on the Planning (I am deputy chair) and Environment & Sustainability (I chair this committee) committees.
