May was a busy month with a return to committee and council meetings via videoconferencing – which has worked really well, on the whole. A little less efficient than meeting in person, perhaps, but at least some of the backlog of work is now being cleared. District Councils continue to play an important role in the national response to Covid-19. We’ve been involved in helping business access grants and support, and making sure shielded residents are OK. Now that the Government’s Track and Trace programme is ramping up, SCDC will play a role in that too.
