It was mid-June when I was cycling along Melvyn Way and noticed that one of the potholes there had been repaired. Given that there’s a veritable archipelago of potholes along the street that seemed to have been a pretty poor return on the visit of some fairly expensive kit.

I’m now a member (in fact Lib Dem lead member) of the Highways & Community infrastructure Committee and by chance had my first meeting with the senior officer who heads up Infrastructure Management & Operations and shared this photo with him.

That was last Thursday and I note today that all the potholes along Melvyn Way are now marked out for repair. Coincidence maybe but fingers crossed they’ll be done soon. It’ll be hot work if they are!
