We had productive talks on Friday. The jury is out as to whether the talks will really bring the changes we need but we need to give it a chance at least. Some of the changes being reviewed are with regards to timing of nightworks, mitigation measures, trigger points of noisy work, calibration of noise monitors etc. This will take a few weeks to sort. Meanwhile, we are in for a noisy night again, it seems. We have received the following notification of night-time works for tonight, Monday 25th June. As agreed on Friday, there has been an effort to show the noise impact levels (Low to High) and specify the mitigation measures that will be used for each. As you will see, for the noisiest works (Medium to High) there is no use of the temporary acoustic barrier planned as this cannot be used for this type of activity. Therefore, if you are really disturbed please make a recording of the noise, especially if you have the noise recorder on your phone or gadget. You do not need to take photographic evidence to show whether or not the moveable acoustic barrier is being used. We have asked to get notification for the full 2-week advance notification that we should be getting according to regulations.

• Work linearly in one direction as much as possible to minimise the duration of works in one particular location. • Utilise automatic tailgate systems where possible. Note: it is very difficult to mitigate the discharge of material from dumper trucks and road wagons due to nature of operation. |
